Since distant pagan times to its' place as one of the Queen's Beasts
in today's Royal Coat of Arms, the Unicorn has always been a mysterious
beast of fable.
Its'
origin in our folklore is not known but, unlike so many creatures
of myth, even from the earliest times it was not a creature
that inspired terror in mankind, but represented strength,
goodness and selflessness.
Legend holds that the Unicorn's horn contained a liquid
that would give protection against disease and that the powdered
horn itself would, when added to food or drink, neutralize
poison.
A full sized edition of this piece, standing some
